Fairhaven Stone are proud to have won the Main Contract to produce a new memorial for the Royal Anglian Regiment which is sited in Duxford Aerodrome, Cambridge, home of the Imperial War Museum and also the home of the Regimental museum.
The memorial, designed by Stephen Oliver of Rodney Melville Architects, consists of a statue of an infantryman on alert by Sculptor Ian Rank-Broadley. His plinth is flanked to either side by a wall of Remembrance and fronted by a paved enclosure. The design of the paving refers to the eight pointed star of the Regimental Badge.
Work on the memorial has progressed through the winter. The memorial will be opened on 25th September with a Remembrance service. Photographs of the completed project will then be posted.
